Map
Join us on Saturday, July 25th for a scenic trek along the Isabella Landing Trail. This beautiful trail winds through lush forest above the North Fork of the Clearwater River, with numerous access points favored by fishermen. Jacob and I hiked a portion of this trail in October of 2023. We got rained out, but it was such a beautiful trail, even in the rain, that I vowed to return for a summer day hike!
This will be an 11-mile out-and-back hike with mostly gradual terrain, making for a solid day on the trail without any major technical challenges. Expect numerous ups and down within a 100-foot elevation range. We’ll do lunch where our trail meets the river’s edge just past Milk Creek. Hopefully, it’ll be the perfect spot to relax, refuel, and—if you’re brave enough—take a refreshing dip in the Clearwater before heading back to the trailhead.
See the Gaia map below for more trail details.
Pack food, plenty of water, sun protection, and tic spray. Wear sturdy shoes and dress in layers, because we never know what the weather is going to do. We’ll hit the trail at 9:00am and expect to be back to the vehicles around 4:00pm.
Isabella Landing does offer camping options for those who wish to camp out the night before. After the hike, we can grab dinner at House of JuJu in Orofino.
See you on the trail!
