01/19/26: A Hot Spring Jaunt To Weir & Jerry Johnson Hot Springs

Details

Map

This Monday, join us for a hot spring jaunt to Weir and Jerry Johnson Hot Springs!

We'll start at Weir Hot Springs at 9am to do our best to beat any crowds. It's a bit of a drive from Lewiston (2 hrs, 50 mins; 141 miles), so we'll need to leave early. Like, 6am early. Fortunately, the hike in to the hot spring is only half a mile. Bring sturdy shoes, though, in case the trail has snow or ice. Ice cleats are not a bad idea if you have them. We do not know the condition of the trail at this time.

After soaking in Weir Hot Springs for a couple hours or so, we'll head about 15 minutes up the Lochsa to the Warm Springs Pack Bridge parking area. We'll cross the bridge and make the 1.2-mile hike in to Jerry Johnson Hot Springs. This one's a beauty right on the edge of the river.

At the time of this posting, Accuweather is calling for cold and sunny on Monday. Dress accordingly and pack an extra dry outfit.

Let's take advantage of this great weather while we have it! See you on the trail!
