Jacob and I made a pass at this hike back in April, but only made it a couple of miles in, so I'd like to make another go of it now and turn it into an overnighter. The Cable Car Hot Spring is about 5.5 miles in, and I'm hopeful that the cool, mostly sunny weather will hold.

The plan is to meet up at the upper parking area of Riggins City Park at 8:00am Pacific Time (9:00am Mountain Time). We will want to carpool to the trailhead because parking is extremely limited at Manning Bridge, which is about half an hour or 14 miles up Big Salmon Road. We will park at the viewpoint on the southern end of Manning Bridge and then walk back across the bridge to reach the Lower Salmon River Trailhead.
