03/21/26: Redbird Canyon to Waha Grill

Hey, Trekkers, let's kick off the 2026 hiking season with a stroll down Redbird Canyon and follow it up with a Waha Burger at the Waha Grill!

Last time we were here was April of 2021. I'm interested to see how the canyon looks after this warm, dry winter we've had.

This trail descends 2,000 ft over 5 miles down to the Snake River. Then we hike back up. We're gonna earn that burger at the end! Fortunately, the trail is an old ATV two-track, so the going is fairly smooth and clear.

Wear sturdy shoes, pack water and a light snack, and dress in layers. Current weather reports show a dry, cloudy day, but this is Idaho, so that could change.
