We’ll meet at the Lewiston Community Center at 8:00 am, and carpool to this old railroad bed that is now a trail through a wildlife management area. It is an easy in and out trail, totaling about 6 miles, and lots of birds and wildlife typically make an appearance. Be prepared with Tick Spray, as they are commonly encountered in this area, especially in the early spring. We’ll eat lunch at the end of the hike, in a park in Colfax if the weather cooperates. Jim U. will lead this hike.
Wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots. Some people find hiking poles are helpful. Always bring water, lunch, and sunscreen. We begin by gathering at a meeting point and carpooling from there. Please also be sure to bring some cash for the driver if you’re carpooling with someone else.
